UK Open Learning Courses
Most of the Home Study courses are published by UK Open Learning and are recognised by the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. These awards and qualifications recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding achieved by a learner at a particular level and in a particular subject.
NCFE
NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
UK Open Learning has been accredited with NCFE’s Investing in Quality (IIQ) Licence which is designed to give formal recognition to programmes that fall outside the National Qualification Framework (NQF). The licence is based on a number of Quality Statements which provide a quality assurance framework for the development, delivery and evaluation of their programmes. The Quality Statements are mapped to a range of standards: ISO 9001, Investors in People, EFQM, the Common Inspection Framework, Matrix, and Recognising and Recording Progression and Achievement (RARPA).
