Who is CompTIA?
CompTIA is the non-profit association advancing the global interests of information technology (IT) professionals and companies including manufacturers, distributors, resellers, and educational institutions.

What is Security+ ?
CompTIA Security+ certification designates knowledgeable professionals in the field of security, one of the fastest-growing fields in IT.

CompTIA Security+ is an international, vendor-neutral certification that proves competency in system security, network infrastructure, access control and organizational security and is intended to provide a natural step toward more advanced security credentials such as CISSP and CEH Certified Ethical Hacking

The exam covers security, access control, network infrastructure, assessments and audits, cryptography and organizational security across all vendor products.Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Security+ candidates have some technical networking experience, with an emphasis on security. CompTIA Network+ certification is a suitable lead in certification for Security+.

Candidate job roles include security architect, security engineer, security consultant/specialist, information assurance technician, security administrator, wireless administrator and network administrator.

Security+ is recognised by the US Government for a security qualification for its employees.

How many exams do candidates need to pass to earn Security+ Certification?
There is just one exam for Security+, exam code SY0-201. It is a 100 question multiple choice exam.
