Qualification Information

To achieve the full Accounting A-Level qualification you will be assessed across the four units. All units will be assessed by four paper-based examinations. A more detailed breakdown of the assessment details is provided below:

AS Level:

Exam: ACCN1 – Unit 1 Introduction to Financial Accounting

  • Assessment format: Written examination
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Exam: ACCN2 – Unit 2 Financial and Management Accounting

  • Assessment format: Written examination
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

A2 Level:

Exam: ACCN3 – Unit 3 Further Aspects of Financial Accounting

  • Assessment format: Written examination
  • Duration: 2 hours

Exam: ACCN – Unit 4 Further Aspects of Management Accounting

  • Assessment format: Written examination
  • Duration: 2 hours

Upon successful completion of the exams you will receive an A-Level in Accounting (AS/A2) issued by AQA. Both AS and A2 level courses and examinations must be successfully completed to gain a full A level. We have chosen this syllabus as it is the best suited to distance learning.
