This A-Level Politics specification is designed to enable candidates to:

OTHER INFORMATION

You will need to take the standard A-Level Politics examinations in order to fully complete this course. . The examinations run on specific dates, which can be obtained by visiting the Edexcel website. You will be required to book and pay for these examinations yourself; however, we can provide a list of A-Level test centres around the country to help you with this.

Qualification Information

To achieve the full Politics A-Level you will be assessed across the 3 units. All units will be assessed by three paper-based examinations. A more detailed breakdown of the assessment details is provided below

Paper 1: UK Politics and Core Political Ideas

  • Percentage: 33.3% of the total A-Level

Paper 2: UK Government and Optional Political Idea

  • Assessed: Three questions

Paper 3: Comparative Politics- Government and Politics of the USA

  • Type: Written examination
  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Assessed: Four questions
Method of Study

The course comes to you as a paper-based pack delivered by courier.

You will be given guidance through the Study Guide on the nuts and bolts of studying and submitting assignments.

Postal assignments cannot be accepted without prior permission from the tutor.
